UKRAINIAN MUSLIMS ABOUT RUSSIAN MUFTI’S RECENT STATEMENT: AUTOCEPHALY IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS

Muslims should not interfere in the affairs of Christians. If someone has the right to comment on the provision of autocephaly to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, those should be the Ukrainian and not Russian Muslims, nor the Muslims from other countries.

Mufti Said Ismagilov of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine said this while commenting on the words of the Supreme Mufti of Russia Talgat Tadjuddin, the 24th channel reports.
It should be noted that recently, the Russian Mufti has opposed the granting of autocephaly to Ukraine, and stated that it “contradicts God's plan.”
Said Ismagilov notes that at first he did not believe that the Mufti could say so “because it is nothing more than a claim to know God's plan!” But later, he saw the confirmation of such a statement in the Russian media.
Firstly, Muslims should not interfere in the affairs of the Orthodox, especially with statements about the knowledge of God's plan. Secondly, if the Muslims are to give assessment to this situation, it is only the Muslims of Ukraine. I have already voiced my position and the position of our religious administration – we welcome autocephaly,” Ismagilov emphasized.
He also added that it is not the case of the Muftis from Russia to give their assessment of the domestic issues.
“We will see to it on our own if our opinion is interesting to the Ukrainian society,” the Mufti of Ukraine emphasized.
