MIKE POMPEO MET WITH THE PATRIARCH OF GEORGIA

US Embassy in Georgia announced that on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, Secretary Pompeo met with the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II and civil society.

Secretary Pompeo met earlier as well with the Prime Minister Gakharia and Foreign Minister Zalkaliani to discuss the United States’ support for Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations and strengthening democratic institutions in the country.

The Secretary also emphasized the importance of electoral and judicial reform, noted the Embassy.

Mike Pompeo paid a two-day visit to Georgia yesterday. The US Secretary of State will end his visit to Georgia today and will leave for Israel.
