ARCHBISHOP OF ATHENS TO METROPOLITAN EPIFANIY OF KYIV: YOU HAVE OUR FULL SUPPORT

 

Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece contacted Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine by phone today, Friday, March 11, 2022, and expressed to him, once again, the full support of the Church of Greece for the Orthodox people of Ukraine.

The Archbishop of Athens pointed out that the support of the Church of Ukraine is of great importance to the Church of Greece, which is why an Encyclical Synodal Note has already been sent to the Holy Archdiocese and its Holy Metropolises, requesting information on their ability to accommodate refugees from Ukraine, especially children, and unaccompanied minors.

Concluding their communication, Metropolitan Ieronymos assured Metropolitan Epifaniy that the Holy Clergy and the pious people of the Church of Greece pray continuously during this blessed period of the Holy and Great Lent so that peace may prevail immediately and the Orthodox peoples of Ukraine and Russia, and the whole world to celebrate Easter.
