OUTDOOR ORTHODOX DIVINE LITURGY HELD ATOP MT. CORCOVADO IN FRONT OF RIO'S CHRIST THE REDEEMER STATUE

On the occasion of Wednesday’s feast day of Andrew, the First-Called Apostle, an outdoor Divine Liturgy was celebrated by the Metropolitan of Buenos Aires and South America, His Eminence Iosif, atop Mount Corcovado, where the iconic statue Christ the Redeemer overlooks Rio de Janeiro. The Metropolitan of the Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East in Brazil, His Eminence Damaskinos, and other Orthodox clerics of Autocephalous Orthodox Churches co-officiated, along with numerous faithful.

The con-celebratory service also commemorated the Thronal Feast of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
