To mark the fourth anniversary of the historic
meeting in Havana between Pope Francis and Patriarch Kirill, the
Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and the Department for
External Church Affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate have jointly
organized a conference and concert on Wednesday 12 February 2020 in
Rome.
The conference on “The Saints – Signs and Seeds of Unity” will be
held at 3.30 pm at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas –
Angelicum. After the greetings of Cardinal Kurt Koch and Metropolitan
Hilarion Alfeev, a main presentation by Father Aleksej Andreev on
“Holiness in the Russian Church” will be followed by that of Father
Marko Rupnik, SJ, on “Holiness and Communion”. The presentations will be
followed by testimonials by Father Kiril Kaleda on “The Russian Martyrs
of the 20th Century” and Sister Gabriella Masturzo on Blessed Maria
Gabriella of Unity.
At the conclusion of the presentations, there will be a screening of
the film “The Apostle Peter” directed by Metropolitan Hilarion.
To conclude the day, at 8.30 pm in the Basilica of Saint John Lateran
a concert will be held by the Synodal Choir of Moscow, directed by
Maestro Aleksej Puzakov, together with the Papal Sistine Chapel Choir,
directed by Maestro Monsignor Marcos Pavan.
