On Thursday evening, at the end of his address at the event organised in his honour by the Basil and Eliza Goulandris Foundation, His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew referred to the new Pope of Rome, Leo XIV, whose name had been announced a little earlier.
Among other things, His All-Holiness stated that he intends to attend the enthronement of the new Pope and to propose that they visit Nicaea together, on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council.
