Δημόσια δήλωση του Κοσμήτορα της Θεολογικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου του Fribourg/Ελβετία Mariano Delgado, σχετικά με τον τακτικό καθηγητή Μητροπολίτη Ιλαρίωνα. Ο Κοσμήτωρ δηλώνει ἀπογοητευμένος απο την στάση και συμπεριφορά του Πατριαρχείου της Ρωσίας. Το κείμενο στην γαλλικη γλώσσα Μεταξύ των άλλων αναφέρει:
Ως Κοσμήτορας της Σχολής, είμαι απογοητευμένος που ο Μητροπολίτης Ιλαρίωνας, επί μακρόν θητευόμενος καθηγητής στη Σχολή μας, δεν αισθάνεται ικανός να αντιταχθεί στην κατάφωρη παραβίαση του διεθνούς δικαίου από τη Ρωσία. Με συγκλονίζουν ιδιαίτερα οι δημόσιες δηλώσεις της ανώτατης αρχής του Πατριαρχείου Μόσχας σχετικά με τη στρατιωτική εισβολή της Ρωσίας στην Ουκρανία. Τα κηρύγματα της 27ης Φεβρουαρίου και της 6ης Μαρτίου στα οποία ο Πατριάρχης Κύριλλος Α' δικαιολογεί τον πόλεμο της Ρωσίας κατά της Ουκρανίας ως «μεταφυσική μάχη» είναι εξωφρενική από θεολογική και πολιτική άποψη.

Since the start of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the West has displayed a significant level of unity and solidarity with Ukraine. Comprehensive sanctions against Russia’s leadership coupled with military support to the Ukrainians have been at the forefront of the Western response. Before the invasion happened, we also witnessed intense and repeated, albeit unsuccessful, diplomatic efforts with the purpose of derailing Putin’s plans.
It wasn’t a surprise for most people that the patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church would be practically mute about Vladimir Putin’s war of aggression against Ukraine. Patriarch Kirill, a former KGB agent, is widely seen as intimate with Kremlin officials – and subservient to the Russian president.
The head of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy, has appealed to the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine to unite.

Δεν είναι δυνατόν να κάνεις τον σταυρό σου, να προσεύχεσαι στο Θεό και την ίδια στιγμή να σκοτώνεις παιδιά και γενικά ανθρώπους. Αυτά δεν συμβιβάζονται».
