Πατριαρχείον Αλεξανδρείας, Gr/EnMessages of peace from His Beatitude
Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, who was
in his birthplace and prayed in the Holy Metropolitan Church of Saint
Minas for the Orthodox people.
"My heart aches when people are killed
and buildings are demolished in Ukraine", said the patriarch, who turned
back time to when he himself was in Odessa from Spili in 1985, where he
remained for 10 years.
"In front of Saint Minas, my prayer is
“Grant, O Lord, peace to these Orthodox peoples. "No more bloodshed,"
said the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, who from Heraklion made
special reference to the large area donated by Egyptian President Al
Sisi to the Patriarchate in the new Administrative Capital of Egypt,
which is emerging from the desert. and which is the newest capital of
the world.
The Patriarchate now acquires its own
space, as a church and a multicultural area will be built which will
embrace all people, which His Beatitude dedicates as he said, to his
three homelands, Greece, Egypt and Cyprus.
This is a huge area in Cairo, which will
be the new center of Orthodoxy, while it will be a beacon for the
missionary work of the Patriarchate on the long-suffering continent.
