Σε νέα ηχηρή καταδίκη του πολέμου στην Ουκρανία προχώρησε η ο Οικουμενικός Πατριάρχης Βαρθολομαίος, σε ομιλία του, σήμερα, κατά την έναρξη του Διεθνούς Συνεδρίου «World Policy Conference - For a Reasonably Open World», που διεξάγεται στο Abu Dhabi, υπογραμμίζοντας ότι ο εν εξελίξει πόλεμος έχει οδηγήσει στον θάνατο χιλιάδες ανθρώπους, Ουκρανούς και Ρώσους, ενώ είναι ανυπολόγιστες οι καταστροφές σε υποδομές στο έδαφος της Ουκρανίας.

The theme was “Jewish-Orthodox Christian Dialogue: Navigating Our Relations to the World and to Each Other.” The Consultation was co-sponsored by the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the International Jewish Committee for Interreligious Consultations (IJCIC).

Τριτεύοντα κ. Καλλίνικο, αναχώρησε με αεροσκάφος της εταιρίας Etihad για το Abu Dhabi, προκειμένου να συμμετάσχει σε δύο Διεθνείς Διασκέψεις Διαθρησκευτικού και Διαπολιτισμικού Διαλόγου.

Yesterday Archbishop Charles Scicluna and Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi welcomed His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew I at the Malta International Airport. This morning, the Patriarch and his accompanying delegation were welcomed by the Archbishop and a number of Maltese bishops at the Archbishop’s Palace in Mdina.

Il Patriarca Bartholomew I sarà il primo Patriarca della Chiesa cristiana ortodossa a visitare Malta tra il 4 e il 7 dicembre.
Some days ago, I friend of mine asked me in all sincerity: “Do you believe we will see a female priest in our lifetime within the Orthodox Church?” In a very natural way, so to speak, and rather instinctively I replied: ‘I don’t know about female priests, but I am pretty sure that we will see female deacons. We will definitely witness deaconesses in the Orthodox Church as it has been part of our tradition for centuries. It was never abolished but the practice ceased around the 12th century or so. Now is the time for its revival.’
