Dr. Ingeborg G. Gabriel holds the Chair of Social Ethics at the University of Vienna. She has Degrees in Economics and International Relations as well as a PhD in Roman Catholic Theology. The Rev. Dr. Nicolas Kazarian is Director of the Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical, and Interfaith Relations at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. He was a member of the Commission that worked on For the Life of the World. He is a specialist on the Orthodox world and ecumenical dialogue, and has published several articles on religion and politics. He is a Professor at the Saint-Sergius Orthodox Institute, and teaches at the Catholic University of Paris

Tο Σεπτό Κέντρο της Ορθοδοξίας, το Οικουμενικό μας Πατριαρχείο επισκέφθηκε ο Σεβ. Μητροπολίτης μας κ. Αμφιλόχιος, σε προγραμματισμένη από διμήνου επίσκεψη και ακρόαση του υπό του Παναγιωτάτου Οικουμενικού μας Πατριάρχου κ.κ. ΒΑΡΘΟΛΟΜΑΙΟΥ. Κατά την συνάντηση του μετά του Σεπτού Προκαθημένου της Ορθοδοξίας, ο Επίσκοπος μας είχε την ευκαιρία όπως ενημερώσει τον Παναγιώτατο δια την ποιμαντική διακονία της Ι. Μητροπόλεως μας.
Τις θερμές ευχές του προς τον Αρχιεπίσκοπο Κρήτης Ειρηναίο, για ταχεία ανάρρωση, απευθύνει ο Οικουμενικός Πατριάρχης Βαρθολομαίος, σε επιστολή του προς τον Κρητικό Ιεράρχη, ο οποίος εξακολουθεί να νοσηλεύεται στην Εντατική του Πανεπιστημιακού Νοσοκομείου Ηρακλείου.

During its working session on Tuesday, the Holy Synod recommended to the parishes of the Romanian Orthodox Church to intensify the activities dedicated to families. It urged the believers to cultivate Christian education and philanthropic spirit in their families and society through prayer and good deeds.
The pandemic of coronavirus that has shaken the world for the last nine months has revealed different forms of fanaticism. First of all, it has revealed coronavirus sceptics. Often referring to all sorts of conspiracy theories, they generally reject the discourse of science. Referring to human rights, their attitude is rather individual than collective, since they think more about their selfish freedom than the wellbeing of the society. They reject the health restrictions imposed by the civil authorities in order to protect the population, such as wearing mandatory face coverings, and they contest the need of mass vaccinations. In different parts of the world, we have seen during the past months several public demonstrations held by such coronavirus sceptics.

Built between 532 and 537, Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom, Ayasofya) represents a brilliant moment in Byzantine architecture and art. It was the principal church of the Byzantine Empire in its capital, Constantinople (later Istanbul), and a mosque after the Ottoman Empire conquered the city in 1453. The decision of the Turkish government in 1934 to establish Ayasofya as a museum was intended to make it a repository of human history—all human history, not a single history confined to one religion or people. Recently, this decision was annulled, turning the building again into a mosque.
Συνάντηση με τον Αμερικανό υπουργό Εξωτερικών Μάικ Πομπέο θα έχει ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Αμερικής Ελπιδοφόρος στο Στέιτ Ντιπάρτμεντ το πρωί της Πέμπτης. Σύμφωνα με πληροφορίες, ο κ. Ελπιδοφόρος θα μεταφέρει τις ανησυχίες της ελληνοαμερικανικής κοινότητας για τη προστασία των Χριστιανικών μειονοτήτων στη Τουρκία και τις τελευταίες εξελίξεις στην περιοχή της Ανατολικής Μεσογείου. Τέλος, αναμένεται ότι ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος θα θέσει για μια ακόμα φορά στο υψηλότερο πολιτικό επίπεδο το θέμα που έχει προκύψει από την μετατροπή της Αγίας Σοφίας σε τζαμί.
COVID-19 continues to challenge the world, churches, and ministry. The National Council of Churches USA and the Orthodox Christian Studies Center of Fordham University are pleased to present the first of a series of webinars highlighting some of these ecclesial challenges. Συνάντηση με τον Μητροπολίτη Γαλλίας κ. Εμμανουήλ και τον Γενικό Γραμματέα του Διεθνούς Κέντρου Διαθρησκευτικού και Διαπολιτισμικού Διαλόγου κ. Faisal bin Muaammar είχε σήμερα το πρωί ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Αθηνών και πάσης Ελλάδος κ. Ιερώνυμος, όπου συζήτησαν διάφορα θέματα κοινού ενδιαφέροντος, ενώ στην συνέχεια τον Αρχιεπίσκοπο επισκέφθηκε ο Πρέσβης της Ελλάδος στο Βατικανό κ. Παναγιώτης Καλογερόπουλος.
Διαδικτυακό σεμινάριο πραγματοποιήθηκε, στις 7 Σεπτεμβρίου 2020, στο πλαίσιο του διαθρησκειακού διαλόγου ανάμεσα στον Ορθόδοξο Χριστιανισμό και το Ισλάμ, με πρωτοβουλία του Μορφωτικού Τμήματος της Πρεσβείας της Ισλαμικής Δημοκρατίας του Ιράν σε συνεργασία με τη Γενική Γραμματεία Θρησκευμάτων του Υπουργείου Παιδείας και Θρησκευμάτων, και την Ακαδημία Θεολογικών Σπουδών Βόλου. Το σεμινάριο, που είχε τον χαρακτήρα προ-συνεδριακής συνάντησης ενός προγραμματισμένου διαθρησκειακού συνεδρίου στην Τεχεράνη, το οποίο και αδυνατεί να λάβει χώρα, λόγω της εξάπλωσης του κορωνοϊού, προλόγισε ο Μορφωτικός Σύμβουλος της Ιρανικής Πρεσβείας στην Αθήνα, Δρ. Μαχντί Κομί.
