Dr. Alon Segev is the author of three books and numerous essays and articles on great variety of themes in religious studies, Holocaust studies, intellectual history, and philosophy, from antiquity to modernity. He earned his PhD from Haifa University with a dissertation on Heidegger. He was a Max-Planck “Minerva” fellow at Heidelberg University and had the DFG grant in Cologne University. His current research deals with the debate over the canonical status of the Old Testament, from Marcion to the present. He teaches philosophy at Loyola University Chicago. This year he is a visiting professor of theology at Philipps University Marburg.

The Very Rev. Dr. Sarah Rowland Jones, LVO, OBE, is the Dean of St. Davids Cathedral (Tyddewi), Wales. A British Diplomat for 15 years prior to ordination in the Church in Wales, she has since also spent a decade as Research and Ecumenical Advisor to successive Archbishops of Cape Town. She has been a member of the Inter-Anglican Standing Commission for Ecumenical Relations (2000-2008), the Inter-Anglican Standing Commission for Unity, Faith and Order (2009-2019), and the International Commission for Anglican-Orthodox Theological Dialogue (2015-present). She is a regular broadcaster, and writes and speaks on ecumenism, spiri-tuality, and public theology.

Dr. Dale T. Irvin is a founding member of the faculty of the New School of Biblical Theology located in Orlando, Florida, as well as an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies. A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv) and Union Theological Seminary in New York (PhD), he is the author and editor of several books, a founding editor of the Journal of World Christianity, and currently, the Chair of the Ecclesiological Investigations International Research Network. He is an ordained min-ister in the American Baptist Churches USA

During its working session on Tuesday, the Holy Synod recommended to the parishes of the Romanian Orthodox Church to intensify the activities dedicated to families. It urged the believers to cultivate Christian education and philanthropic spirit in their families and society through prayer and good deeds.
CORONAVIRUS SCEPTICISM, FANATICISM AND MORBID RELIGIOSITY
The pandemic of coronavirus that has shaken the world for the last nine months has revealed different forms of fanaticism. First of all, it has revealed coronavirus sceptics. Often referring to all sorts of conspiracy theories, they generally reject the discourse of science. Referring to human rights, their attitude is rather individual than collective, since they think more about their selfish freedom than the wellbeing of the society. They reject the health restrictions imposed by the civil authorities in order to protect the population, such as wearing mandatory face coverings, and they contest the need of mass vaccinations. In different parts of the world, we have seen during the past months several public demonstrations held by such coronavirus sceptics.

ΟΡΘΟΔΟΞΗ ΘΕΟΛΟΓΙΑ ΚΑΙ «ΠΑΡΑΘΕΟΛΟΓΙΚΟΙ ΙΟΙ»

Ἡ ὀρθόδοξη θεολογία εἶναι ἡ ζωή καί ἡ διδασκαλία τῆς Ὀρθοδόξου Ἐκκλησίας, ὡς Σώματος τοῦ Χριστοῦ. Ὁ Ἄσαρκος Λόγος στήν Παλαιά Διαθήκη πού ἐσαρκώθη καί εἶναι ὁ Σεσαρκωμένος Λόγος στήν Καινή Διαθήκη καί τήν Ἐκκλησία, ἀπεκάλυψε στούς Προφῆτες, τούς Ἀποστόλους καί τούς Πατέρας διά μέσου τῶν αἰώνων ὅλες τίς ἀλήθειες γιά τόν Θεό καί τόν ἄνθρωπο καί πῶς μπορεῖ ὁ ἄνθρωπος νά ἑνωθῆ μέ Αὐτόν καί νά ζῆ αἰωνίως μαζί Του.

Στο μυστήριο της Θείας Ευχαριστίας αναφέρθηκε με άρθρο, υπό τον τίτλο «ΠΡΑΓΜΑΤΩΝ ΕΛΕΓΧΟΣ ΟΥ ΒΛΕΠΟΜΕΝΩΝ», το οποίο δημοσιεύτηκε στην εφημερίδα Καθημερινή, το Σάββατο 26 Σεπτεμβρίου 2020, ο Σεβ. Μητροπολίτης Σύρου κ. Δωρόθεος, διαβεβαιώνοντας πως «Η Εκκλησία θα παραμείνει διάκονος και σώτειρα του λαού, χωρίς ποτέ και με κανέναν να «διαπραγματευτεί» τα θεμελιώδη της Πίστεως, την ουσία και το λόγο της ύπαρξής Της, το Μυστήριο της Θείας Ευχαριστίας».

HAGIA SOPHIA: THE HISTORY OF THE BUILDING AND THE BUILDING IN HISTORY WEBINAR
Built between 532 and 537, Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom, Ayasofya) represents a brilliant moment in Byzantine architecture and art. It was the principal church of the Byzantine Empire in its capital, Constantinople (later Istanbul), and a mosque after the Ottoman Empire conquered the city in 1453. The decision of the Turkish government in 1934 to establish Ayasofya as a museum was intended to make it a repository of human history—all human history, not a single history confined to one religion or people. Recently, this decision was annulled, turning the building again into a mosque.
