Upon
the invitation of the Office of the President of the United States of
America, over 100,000 religious leaders from across the country
participated in the teleconference with the 45th President of the United States of America Donald Trump.
His Eminence Archbishop Daniel
represented Metropolitan Antony, clergy and faithful of the Ukrainian
Orthodox Church of the USA at the virtual meeting with the US President.
President Trump opened the meeting with
his introductory remarks, reflecting upon the upcoming season of
religious Holy Days, thanking the religious leaders of the United States
of America for their cooperation in saving lives of Americans across
the country and the globe. Mr. Trump also reiterated to the participants
of the meeting that the PayCheck Protection Program Plan is also
available to Faith communities and over 200,000 applications have been
submitted already, and about 250 billion US dollars in aid is available
and offered to small businesses.
Listening
to the voice of the religious leaders of various Faiths backgrounds,
President Trump offered gratitude to all religious communities, stating
that “…Faith inspires us to care for the vulnerable...” The President
also thanked students of religious communities for taking initiative and
offering free delivery of food to those that are in need of physical
assistance. Mr. Trump concluded his formal remarks with the statement
that “…Americans believe in the power of prayer...”
Following the formal remarks of the
President, the Vice-President of the United States of America Michael
Pence addressed the attendees of the teleconference, stating that as
people of the United States of America - “…We are a nation of Faith!”
The meeting concluded with several prayers offered by the religious leaders in attendance of the meeting.
