His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel has expressed his deep sorrow over the repose of Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus.

“IT’S NOT THE NUMBER OF YEARS THAT MATTERS, BUT THE USE OF TIME”: PATRIARCH DANIEL ON HIS 14TH ENTHRONEMENT ANNIVERSARY

                      

“It’s not the number of years that matters so much, but the use of time to glorify God and help others,” Patriarch Daniel said Thursday at the end of the Thanksgiving service marking the 14th anniversary of his enthronement as Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

Patriarch Daniel presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Cathedral on the Sunday of Orthodoxy. In his sermon, His Beatitude highlighted the three roles of an icon: to profess the truth of the Incarnation of the Son of God; to call Christians to prayer discreetly but insistently, and to offer a “prophetic, anticipated view, a foretaste of the Kingdom of Heaven.”
