Since the beginning of this year, the world has been subjected to one
of the most difficult temptations and health trials, inflicted by the
spread of the COVID-19 (Corona) virus, which is sweeping over most
countries, infecting tens of thousands of people and killing thousands

ANNUAL SPIRITUAL RETREAT OF NATIVITY FOR CLERGY OF DAMASCUS
The Antioch Patriarchate received the annual spiritual retreat of Nativity for the clergy and monastics of Damascus, who gathered under the protection of Saint Mary’s Church in the presence of Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East of the Greek Orthodox Church, the Patriarch of Antioch and all the East of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, and the Supreme Head of the Universal Syrian Orthodox Church and Patriarch of Antioch and of All the East, of Alexandria and of Jerusalem of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church, Youssef the First Absi, and the Apostolic Nuncio to Syria, Cardinal Mario Zenari, with the heads and hierarchs of the Christian Communities in Damascus.

participated in a meeting of the Presidents of MECC, hosted by His
Beatitude John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East
and President of the Middle East Council of Churches for the Orthodox
Family of Churches, at Saint Elias Chwayya Monastery – Lebanon.

METROPOLITAN JOSEPH WELCOMES ARCHBISHOP ELPIDOPHOROS TO ARCHDIOCESAN HEADQUARTERS
On
Thursday, August 22, His Eminence Metropolitan Joseph hosted the newly
elected Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of
America at the headquarters of the Antiochian Archdiocese in Englewood,
New Jersey. Although the two hierarchs have met in the past on a few
occasions, this was the first face-to-face meeting since the new
archbishop was enthroned in June.

PRIMATES OF ORTHODOX CHURCHES IN MIDDLE EAST RELEASE STATEMENT FOLLOWING MEETING IN CYPRUS
Four Primates of Autocephalous Orthodox Churches in the Middle East met at the headquarters of the Archdiocese of Cyprus in Nicosia where they discussed inter-Orthodox topics on Thursday, April 18, 2019.
