One week from today, on February 17, the University of Chicago (Divinity School), Fordham University's Orthodox Christian Studies Center, and the Lumen Christi Institute will cohost “For the Life of the World: Toward a Social Ethos of the Orthodox Church.” A panel of leading Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant theologians will examine and discuss this recent social document and its application to the wider Christian world.
His Eminence Metropolitan Nathanael is proud to endorse and attend the event, and encourages anyone interested to register for online or in-person attendance. The event is free and open to all.

The 20th anniversary of the European Ecumenical Charter, known as the “Charta Oecumenica”, will be marked by European Churches on 22 April 2021. The document was signed in 2001 by the presidents of the Council of European Bishops’ Conferences (CCEE) and Conference of European Churches (CEC) to promote closer collaboration and ecumenical dialogue in Europe.

GERMANY’S ORTHODOX BISHOPS ARE PLANNING TO MARK 1700 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF FIRST ECUMENICAL COUNCIL IN 2025

German Orthodox Christians will celebrate the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council in 2025. The decision to mark the historical event in Nicaea was made at the last meeting of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of Germany (OBKD) that took place in October in Bonn.
