«Το μήνυμα της ειρήνης στη Μεσόγειο, που με όλες τους τις δυνάμεις στηρίζουν η Ελλάδα, η Αίγυπτος και η Κύπρος», έδωσε σήμερα από την Αλεξάνδρεια, ο Πατριάρχης Θεόδωρος, κατά την 16η επέτειο από την εκλογή του ως Προκαθήμενος του Δευτερόθρονου Πατριαρχείου της Ορθοδοξίας.

We have just received a wonderful opportunity to rebuild the Church in America from the ground up. Over the past one hundred years, great hierarchs led the Archdiocese of America, of which the later Patriarch Athenagoras and Archbishop Michael stand out, who consolidated and strengthened our communities. Of course, Archbishop Iakovos was the one who, in his 37 years as Archbishop, transformed our Archdiocese, giving it a leading role in American society.

elected Archimandrite Mykhailo Onyshchenko, who had served as an Exarch
in Ukraine for the past two years, to the office of Bishop of Comana.

Σήμερα, Πέμπτη, 8ηνΟκτωβρίου 2020, τρίτη ημέρα των εργασιών της, η Αγία και Ιερά Σύνοδος του Οικουμενικού Πατριαρχείου ασχολήθηκε, μεταξύ άλλων, διεξοδικώς με θέματα τής Ιεράς Αρχιεπισκοπής Αμερικής και εθεώρησε εκθέσεις του οικείου Αρχιεπισκόπου Σεβ. κ. Dr. Alon Segev is the author of three books and numerous essays and articles on great variety of themes in religious studies, Holocaust studies, intellectual history, and philosophy, from antiquity to modernity. He earned his PhD from Haifa University with a dissertation on Heidegger. He was a Max-Planck “Minerva” fellow at Heidelberg University and had the DFG grant in Cologne University. His current research deals with the debate over the canonical status of the Old Testament, from Marcion to the present. He teaches philosophy at Loyola University Chicago. This year he is a visiting professor of theology at Philipps University Marburg.

The Very Rev. Dr. Sarah Rowland Jones, LVO, OBE, is the Dean of St. Davids Cathedral (Tyddewi), Wales. A British Diplomat for 15 years prior to ordination in the Church in Wales, she has since also spent a decade as Research and Ecumenical Advisor to successive Archbishops of Cape Town. She has been a member of the Inter-Anglican Standing Commission for Ecumenical Relations (2000-2008), the Inter-Anglican Standing Commission for Unity, Faith and Order (2009-2019), and the International Commission for Anglican-Orthodox Theological Dialogue (2015-present). She is a regular broadcaster, and writes and speaks on ecumenism, spiri-tuality, and public theology.

Dr. Dale T. Irvin is a founding member of the faculty of the New School of Biblical Theology located in Orlando, Florida, as well as an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies. A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv) and Union Theological Seminary in New York (PhD), he is the author and editor of several books, a founding editor of the Journal of World Christianity, and currently, the Chair of the Ecclesiological Investigations International Research Network. He is an ordained min-ister in the American Baptist Churches USA

He was a member of the Commission that worked on For the Life of the World. He is a specialist on the Orthodox world and ecumenical dialogue, and has published several articles on religion and politics. He is a Professor at the Saint-Sergius Orthodox Institute, and teaches at the Catholic University of Paris
