The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, His
All Holiness Bartholomew I, convenes the 3rd International Halki
Conference on Theology and Ecology, which takes place from May 31 to
June 4.
The
conference will bring together some 50 distinguished theologians and
specialists from 40 seminaries and institutes from all around the world,
with talks focusing on theological education and ecological awareness.
The
international conference is considered as a scientific roundtable,
where participants will hear addresses and presentations by noted
environmental theologians, as well as discussing ways in which
environmental awareness can be promoted by Orthodox seminaries and
higher education institutions.
