RECEPTION OF THE GREEK ARCHBISHOP AND THE ACCOMPANYING DELEGATION

Reception of the Greek Archbishop and the Accompanying Delegation
Beirut International Airport, March 21, 2023
His Beatitude Patriarch John X received His Beatitude Ieronymos II, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, and his accompanying delegation: His Eminence Symeon Metropolitan of Fthiotida, Archdeacon John, and Mr. Kostas Themitsas, Director of the "Apostoli" organization, on the occasion of the brotherly visit of the Archbishop to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, after the earthquake that struck the region.
Alongside His Beatitude Patriarch John X, the following were present: Their Eminences, Metropolitan Elias Aude (Beirut), Metropolitan Saba Esber (New York and North America), Metropolitan Silouan Moussi (Mount Lebanon), Bishop Moses al-Khosi, Archimandrite Georges Yaacub (Oikonomos of Our Lady of Balamand Monastery), and Archimandrite Gerasimus Kabbas.
Their beatitudes exchanged words of gratitude and love. His Beatitude Patriarch John X, on behalf of the Church of Antioch and its archpriests and people, thanked the stance of love and the generous gesture of the Greek delegation. He also thanked the presence of Her Excellency, the Greek Ambassador, Madam Catherine Fountoulaki.

In turn, the Archbishop conveyed a picture of the solidarity of the Greek people: the government, the people, families, and every Greek citizen of all ages, towards this ordeal and their insistence upon reaching this aid to the people. Likewise, His Beatitude Ieronymos II expressed that "we are by your side today. The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece also entrusted me with conveying to you their love and prayers at this difficult event. In my turn, I will convey to the Greek people that in the Church of Antioch, amid all these difficulties and tribulations, you are all united and working together”.
