HOLY METROPOLIS OF ZAMBIA Coronavirus, time to reinforce fraternity, solidarity
All faithful followers are urged to follow the instructions given by
the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) for the
prevention and dealing with the coronavirus.
The coronavirus emergency “is a propitious time to understand the
value of fraternity and of our bonds with each other in an indissoluble
way.
Following the medical and scientific recommendations, we are
currently suspending until further notice the gatherings of the youth,
Catechetical schools, Bible study and any other events in the parishes
of our Metropolis to face the outbreak of the Coronavirus, Covid-19,
that has spread throughout the world.
With the help of God and all of us cooperating we will be able to
deal with this pandemic. We must especially remember to protect the
vulnerable members of the local community
As Christians, we must take responsibility for the well being of
others. We can be united in the spirit even as we are apart in the body.
May the God of every consolation, the God of mercy, love, and
compassion restore to health those who are ill, strengthen the families
of those afflicted, and guide those ministering to them. We also direct
all members of the Church to offer prayers for the afflicted, for their
families, for those who are ministering to them, and for those who are
anxious or troubled by this situation.
I will be ever-vigilant for the welfare of our Metropolis, praying
every day for all of you,for those in charge of the health system ,for
our Nation, and for the world.
