As he pointed out, the Church has been ruthlessly slandered in the past, but has meekly carried her burden.
“The Church will always be at the forefront of the national struggle,
as she knows better than any opportunistic pollster and researcher that
our people, even in this ordeal, seek to rely on her, the bishops and
the priests, and want to pray and go to the church in order to
participate in the Divine Liturgy. Through the people’s faith and
participation in the Holy Mysteries of the Church, the faithful become
stronger and have the adequate equipment and moral courage to move
forward on the road of the national recovery and progress,” said
Metropolitan Dorotheos.
He also emphasizes that “the Church will never do one thing! She will
never ‘negotiate’ the cornerstone of our faith, which is never in
conflict with science, as, after all, science never competes with her,
because the boundaries between them are separate and clearly defined.”
