His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch
Bartholomew participated in a 24-hour drive for unity, The Call to
Unite, organized by disability rights activist and film producer Timothy
Shriver. It featured numerous leaders and celebrities offering video
messages of solidarity and support amid the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic.
The videos were designed to celebrate someone who has been supportive
for the speaker through the pandemic, as well as to explain the speaker
plans to #answerthecall for someone else in need.
The Call to Unite is partnering with GiveDirectly to raise direct
financial support for families around the world hit hard by the crisis,
and with Points of Light to provide opportunities that allow individuals
to choose volunteer activities, including remote, virtual and DIY, that
fit their needs and interests. All of the full featured videos are
available to watch at: www.unite.us
