There is no need to threaten the Ukrainians who want to unite in the
Ukrainian Church – the revenge will not succeed and the epoch will not
return to the darkness.
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy said this during the session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reports the IA ZIK.
The speaker responded in this manner to a statement made by Vadym
Novinsky, the opposition leader, about “ecclesiastical raidering”, which
allegedly takes place in Ukraine, and his demands for the adoption of
new legislation that would regulate relations between denominations.
“This man comes out and threatens Ukraine because of the creation of
the Ukrainian Church. What have we come to?! We, whom it hundred years
before creation of our Church! Already more than 500 communities have
moved to the Ukrainian Church. Ukrainian society is united around the
Ukrainian Church. Do not threaten us, friends, because we can speak much
harder in such a language, but we are holding a civilized debate. And
do not threaten the Ukrainians who are willing today to unite in the
Ukrainian Church! … The revenge will not succeed, the era of darkness
will not return!” said Andriy Parubiy, appealing to the Opposition bloc
leader.
It should be noted that it is not for the first time that Chairman of
the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy and the Opposition Bloc leader Vadym
Novynsky argue in the Verkhovna Rada. Earlier, when the bill on the
transition of religious communities between Andriy Parubiy and the MP
was reviewed, the conflict arose. "Get away from me, the evil one!"
Parubiy exclaimed then to Novinsky.
