On November 7, 2022, the Primate of the local Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy, performed in the Golden-Domed St. Michael’s Cathedral a funeral liturgy for the late Archbishop Chrysostomos of New Justiniana and All Cyprus, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Cyprus, who passed away today.
This was reported by the press service of OCU.
Together with the Blessed Bishop prayed the vicar of the Golden-Domed Monastery, Archbishop Agapit of Vyshgorod, Bishop Antoniy of Boryspil, and the venerable brothers of the monastery.
Archbishop Chrysostomos zealously served God in the glorious Trinity, and also worked not only locally for his flock, but also beyond, for the entire world Orthodoxy, rooting for its unity. That is why His Beatitude contributed to the historic decision – the recognition of our Orthodox Church of Ukraine as autocephalous.
May the All-Merciful Lord rest the soul of Archbishop Chrysostomos in the abodes of the righteous. Eternal memory!
