Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia met with Cardinal Secretary of State of the Holy See

Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia and the spiritual leader of the Georgian Orthodox Church met with Cardinal Secretary of State of the Holy See, Pietro Parolin.

The conversation between Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia and Cardinal Pietro Parolin touched upon the difficulties and modern challenges Georgia and the whole Christendom face.

According to His Holiness, the relations between the Vatican and Georgia began many centuries ago and the visit of Cardinal is a continuation of this historic cooperation.

Secretary of State conveyed greetings from Pope Francis and noted: "I want to convey you a greeting from His Holiness, the Pope of Rome. I met the Pope on Monday and told him I was going to Georgia on Christmas Eve. As soon as I mentioned Georgia, his face was filled with joy and told me to convey his warm greeting to the Patriarch of Georgia".
