25TH ANNIVERSARY OF UT UNUM SINT

A monthly cycle of conferences dedicated to the encyclical Ut unum sint (1995) will be held during the 2019–2020 academic year at the Angelicum in order to mark 25th anniversary of its publication.

The initiative is being jointly promoted by the Saint Thomas Aquinas Pontifical University and the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity within the ambit of the “Tillard Chair”. The relators are all leading figures in modern Christianity, and will speak on a range of issues related to the encyclical and the ecumenical movement.
On 25 October at 5.30pm, Brother ENZO BIANCHI, Founder of the Bose Monastery, will hold the first conference on Ut unum sint: Point of arrival and point of departure.
The 2019–2010 cycle of conferences will also feature Dr MARIA MARIA VOCE, President of the Focolare Movement; Revd OLAV FYKSE TVEIT, Secretary General Secretary of the World Council of Churches; Cardinal WALTER KASPER, President Emeritus of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity; His Beatitude SVIATOSLAV SHEVCHUK, Major Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek–Catholic Church; Brother ALOIS, Prior of the Taizé Community; Metropolitan KALLISTOS WARE of the Ecumenical Patriarchate; Cardinal KURT KOCH, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.
The "Tillard Chair", dedicated to ecumenism, was founded in 2003 at the Angelicum in honor of the famous French theologian and ecumenist Jean-Marie Tillard O.P. (1927-2000).
