PATRIARCH THEODOROS II OF ALEXANDRIA AND ALL AFRICA ON PILGRIMAGE TO THE MONASTERIES OF THE PATRIARCHATE OF PEC AND DECHANI


His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, visited the monasteries of the Pec Patriarchate and Dechani on Kosovo and Metochia on 26 September 2017.

The Primates of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Serbian Orthodox Church were accompanied by Their Eminences Metropolitans Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, Georgios of Guinea and Niphont of Pelousion, and byTheir Graces Bishops Irinej of Backa, Justin of Zica and Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla; as well as by Very Venerable Archimandrite Daniel, Secretary of the Synod of the Church of Alexandria.
Following the veneration of the shrines in the Pec Patriarchate, His Beatitude Theodoros II and His Holiness Irinej with their entourage visited the Dechani Monastery. The Primate of the apostolic Church of Alexandria was welcomed by His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren with  clergy, monastics and the faithful people.
In the Dechani monastery a doxology for the guest was performed while the students of the Theological Seminary of Prizren sang responses. It was here that the Diocesan Bishop Teodosije delivered an address, whereupon the Patriarch of Alexandria responded, expressing his great spiritual joy caused by his visit to Serbian shrines on Kosovo and Metochia.
After the exchange of gifts, the Primates, hierarchs, priests and monastics had an agape meal during which a choir of Serbian children from Kosovo and Metohija sang a few old Serbian songs.
Later on, His Beatitude Patriarch Theodoros, accompanied by his host, visited the city of Nis, where he was welcomed by the Diocesan Bishop Arsenije with clergy, monastics and the faithful.
