THE METROPOLITAN OF BURUNDI AND RWANDA INVOLVED IN AGRICULTURE DURING THIS COVID19 PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN

Uganda Orthodox Church
By the grace of God, “I am not starving because we have enough to eat, I am only missing my flock in Burundi and Rwanda” these were the words His Eminence Metropolitan Innocentios Byakatonda of the Holy Metropolis of Burundi and Rwanda upon being trapped in his village in Uganda due to the COVID19 Pandemic effects that got him locked down in Uganda early this month while he was crossing from Rwanda through Uganda at Katuna border.

He was put in a mandatory quarantine by the medical authorities in Uganda (from 22nd March) so to ascertain whether he had contracted the COVID19 virus and by the grace of God, he tested negative.
He is now practically involved in agriculture so as to feed himself and those around his neighborhood in his village in Uganda.

It has been identified that many people in Uganda and other parts of the world have been greatly affected to the extent of lacking what to eat due to the intense measures put in place to prevent the widespread of the Corona Virus hindering them access to their day to day sources of survival mostly in the urban centers.
“If you give some of your own food to [feed] those who are hungry and to satisfy [the needs of] those who are humble, then your light will rise in the dark, and your darkness will become as bright as the noonday sun
Isaiah 58: 10
We continue to put the entire situation brought about by this pandemic in our prayers so that the Metropolitan Innocentios can be reunited with his dear flock. And to all those all over the world who have tested positive of the Virus, we pray for the healing hand of Our Risen Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to be upon you.
Christ Is Risen! Truly, He is Risen!
