Communiqué (29/11/2018).
The Holy and Sacred Synod convened under the chairmanship of His All-Holiness for its regular sessions from Tuesday, November 27, to Thursday, November 29, 2018.
During its sessions, it examined all of the items on the agenda, upon which the appropriate decisions were made, including the following:
a. Upon the recommendation of His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, within the context of his canonical responsibility, the Holy and Sacred Synod reorganized the status of the “Exarchate for Orthodox Parishes of the Russian Tradition in Western Europe,” thereby entrusting its faithful to the Hierarchs of the Ecumenical Throne in Europe.
b. The Holy and Sacred Synod, in unanimously accepting the proposal of the Autonomous Church of Finland under the Ecumenical Patriarchate, recorded in the Hagiologion of the Orthodox Church the Venerable John of Valamo (1873-1958), and the Holy Martyr and Confessor, John of Ilomantsi (1884-1918), both of whom lived and worked there.
c. Finally, in the context of the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s previously-made decision to grant autocephaly to the Church of Ukraine, and in anticipation of the issuance of the Patriarchal and Synodal Tomos, the Holy and Sacred Synod drafted the Ukrainian Church’s Constitutional Charter.
At the conclusion of these sessions, His All-Holiness and His Eminence Metropolitan Panteleimon of Vryoula, on behalf of the Holy and Sacred Synod, exchanged festal addresses for the upcoming feasts of Christmas and the New Year.

Ἀνακοινωθέν (29/11/2018).
Συνῆλθεν, ὑπό τήν προεδρείαν τῆς Α. Θ. Παναγιότητος, ἡ Ἁγία καί Ἱερά Σύνοδος εἰς τάς τακτικάς αὐτῆς συνεδρίας ἀπό τῆς Τρίτης, 27ης, μέχρι καί τῆς Πέμπτης, 29ης τ. μ. Νοεμβρίου 2018.
Κατά τάς συνεδρίας ταύτας ἐθεωρήθησαν ἅπαντα τά ἐν τῇ ἡμερησίᾳ διατάξει ἀναγεγραμμένα θέματα, ἐφ᾿ ὧν καί ἐλήφθησαν αἱ προσήκουσαι ἀποφάσεις, μεταξύ τῶν ὁποίων:
α) Προτάσει τῆς Α.Θ. Παναγιότητος τοῦ Οἰκουμενικοῦ Πατριάρχου, ἐν τῷ πλαισίῳ τῆς κανονικῆς Αὐτοῦ εὐθύνης, ἡ Ἁγία καί Ἱερά Σύνοδος προέβη εἰς τήν ἀναδιάρθρωσιν τοῦ καθεστῶτος τῆς μέχρι τοῦδε «Ἐξαρχίας τῶν ἐν Δυτικῇ Εὐρώπῃ Ὀρθοδόξων Παροικιῶν Ρωσσικῆς Παραδόσεως», ὑπαγαγοῦσα τούς ὑπ᾿ αὐτήν πιστούς εἰς τούς ἐν Εὐρώπῃ Ἱεράρχας τοῦ Οἰκουμενικοῦ Θρόνου.
β) Ἡ Ἁγία καί Ἱερά Σύνοδος, ὁμοφώνως ἀποδεχθεῖσα εἰσήγησιν τῆς ὑπό τό Οἰκουμενικόν Πατριαρχεῖον Αὐτονόμου Ἐκκλησίας τῆς Φιλλανδίας, ἀνέγραψεν εἰς τό Ἁγιολόγιον τῆς Ὀρθοδόξου Ἐκκλησίας τούς Ὅσιον Ἰωάννην τοῦ Βάλαμο (1873-1958) καί Ἅγιον Μάρτυρα καί Ὁμολογητήν Ἰωάννην τοῦ Ἰλόμαντσι (1884-1918), οἱ ὁποῖοι ἔζησαν καί ἔδρασαν ἐκεῖσε.
γ) Τέλος, ἐν τῷ πλαισίῳ τῆς εἰλημμένης ἀποφάσεως ὅπως τό Οἰκουμενικόν Πατριαρχεῖον χωρήσῃ εἰς τήν χορήγησιν αὐτοκεφαλίας εἰς τήν Ἐκκλησίαν τῆς Οὐκρανίας καί ἐν ὄψει τῆς ἐκδόσεως τοῦ σχετικοῦ Πατριαρχικοῦ καί Συνοδικοῦ Τόμου, κατήρτισε τόν Καταστατικόν Χάρτην αὐτῆς.
α) Προτάσει τῆς Α.Θ. Παναγιότητος τοῦ Οἰκουμενικοῦ Πατριάρχου, ἐν τῷ πλαισίῳ τῆς κανονικῆς Αὐτοῦ εὐθύνης, ἡ Ἁγία καί Ἱερά Σύνοδος προέβη εἰς τήν ἀναδιάρθρωσιν τοῦ καθεστῶτος τῆς μέχρι τοῦδε «Ἐξαρχίας τῶν ἐν Δυτικῇ Εὐρώπῃ Ὀρθοδόξων Παροικιῶν Ρωσσικῆς Παραδόσεως», ὑπαγαγοῦσα τούς ὑπ᾿ αὐτήν πιστούς εἰς τούς ἐν Εὐρώπῃ Ἱεράρχας τοῦ Οἰκουμενικοῦ Θρόνου.
β) Ἡ Ἁγία καί Ἱερά Σύνοδος, ὁμοφώνως ἀποδεχθεῖσα εἰσήγησιν τῆς ὑπό τό Οἰκουμενικόν Πατριαρχεῖον Αὐτονόμου Ἐκκλησίας τῆς Φιλλανδίας, ἀνέγραψεν εἰς τό Ἁγιολόγιον τῆς Ὀρθοδόξου Ἐκκλησίας τούς Ὅσιον Ἰωάννην τοῦ Βάλαμο (1873-1958) καί Ἅγιον Μάρτυρα καί Ὁμολογητήν Ἰωάννην τοῦ Ἰλόμαντσι (1884-1918), οἱ ὁποῖοι ἔζησαν καί ἔδρασαν ἐκεῖσε.
γ) Τέλος, ἐν τῷ πλαισίῳ τῆς εἰλημμένης ἀποφάσεως ὅπως τό Οἰκουμενικόν Πατριαρχεῖον χωρήσῃ εἰς τήν χορήγησιν αὐτοκεφαλίας εἰς τήν Ἐκκλησίαν τῆς Οὐκρανίας καί ἐν ὄψει τῆς ἐκδόσεως τοῦ σχετικοῦ Πατριαρχικοῦ καί Συνοδικοῦ Τόμου, κατήρτισε τόν Καταστατικόν Χάρτην αὐτῆς.
Ἐν τέλει τῶν συνεδριῶν τούτων, ἀντηλλάγησαν μεταξύ τῆς Α. Θ. Παναγιότητος καί τοῦ Σεβ. Mητροπολίτου Βρυούλων κ. Παντελεήμονος, ἐκ μέρους τῆς Ἁγίας καί Ἱερᾶς Συνόδου, ἑόρτιοι προσφωνήσεις καί ἀντιφωνήσεις ἐπί ταῖς ἐπερχομέναις Ἑορταῖς τοῦ Ἁγίου Δωδεκαημέρου.
